We are a warm and friendly group of believers that sincerely desire to serve the Lord. We strive to "love the Lord God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves."
"Our sincere desire is to know God intimately,
to serve God passionately,
and to spread His Word fervently!
Therefore, we seek to love, serve, and pray for one another -
to walk humbly, serve faithfully, care deeply,
speak kindly, pray boldly, and leave the rest to God."
We have been serving Long Island since 1950! Many faithful men and women throughout our history have given of themselves in prayer and dedication towards the ongoing work here in Hicksville.
Following is a quoted conversation (found in "A Slice of the Big Apple" by Penny Faust, pages 16-17) between the founder of Hicksville Christian (Elmer Kile) and one of the Trustees (Mr. Heuman) of the 'Go Ye Chapel Missions' Board on the prospects of starting a work here in Hicksville:
"Said Mr. Heuman, 'How much money do we have to begin this new church?'
"Elmer Kile said complacently, 'We don't have any money.'
"Mr. Heuman said, 'How many New Testament families do we have in Hicksville to begin this new work?'
"'We don't have any families at all,' Elmer Kile said, unabashed.
"In other words,' Mr. Heuman said, 'without money and without people you are going to begin a new church? I don't think it can be done.'
"'We can do it,' Elmer Kile said quietly. 'God can do it.'"
